EMME Students Explore the Memory of the Earth in the Azores

In May 2025, students from Romania, Slovakia, and Croatia joined Portuguese peers in the Azores for the first EMME student exchange. Hosted by ESJEA and GeoAçores, the program combined geology, sustainability, and culture through hikes, volcano visits, and hands-on fieldwork. Students also began creating video documentaries, fostering intercultural bonds and climate awareness while exploring the Earth’s memory in the Atlantic.

Teachers Train in Croatia to Bring the EMME App to Life

In March–April 2025, EMME partners met in Zagreb for staff training to finalize the EMME mobile app. Through workshops, prototype testing, and cultural field visits, teachers refined the app’s gamified learning features and assigned curriculum modules to partner institutions. The app will launch in Spring 2025, offering students a new way to explore geoscience, culture, and sustainability.

EMME Project Kicks Off Digital Work in Slovakia

In August 2024, the EMME team met in Slovakia to launch Work Package 3 – developing the project’s mobile app with gamified missions, geolocation tasks, and eco-tools. Alongside cultural visits, partners from four countries planned and tested features that will bring the EMME curriculum into digital learning, with a full release set for Spring 2025.

Teachers from four countries train together in the Azores

From June 22–28, 2024, teachers from Romania, Portugal, Slovakia, and Croatia met in the Azores for Erasmus+ EMME training, combining workshops, field trips, and cultural visits to develop and adapt the curriculum. The event strengthened collaboration, promoted place-based learning, and prepared for curriculum testing, a mobile app launch, and future student exchanges.
