EMME at Volcano Day – Hațeg

The EMME – Exchanging Memories, Memory of the Earth project will proudly take part in the 7th edition of Volcano Day, a vibrant public science event hosted in the heart of the UNESCO Global Geopark Țara Hațegului.

Time: 10:00–12:00

Organized under the theme “Experiences in Nature and Culture from Bretea Română”, this year’s edition brings together children, teachers, researchers, and volunteers for a morning of creative workshops, science games, and geological experiments, all celebrating the volcanic past of the region.

International participation
EMME joins the event with a special stand showcasing our project’s learning tools and mobility outcomes — highlighting how Geoparks can become meaningful spaces for learning, exchange, and youth engagement.

We will present:

The EMME mobile app, currently in its pilot phase

Student-created video documentaries

Photo exhibitions from recent mobilities in the Azores and Slovakia

Hands-on activities inspired by the memory of the Earth

This public event is part of our broader mission to promote outdoor learning, Earth heritage awareness, and European cooperation, by taking science and sustainability outside the classroom and into the community.
